I get excited this time of year as people set out their lawn ornaments to celebrate Christmas. This season I have a new nativity scene to put out in my yard that will shadow the scene on the side of my house. I also have friends that have the giant letters that spell out words. I especially like seeing the word JOY not because I love her character from the movie Inside Out but to me JOY stands for “Jesus, Others and You”. It goes with the greatest commandment that God comes first and to love your neighbors as you are to love yourself. It is the best acronym to describe how Christ calls us to approach the people in our lives putting him first then others then ourselves. God is passionate about his relationship with you. We are wired to have a direct relationship with God. We were made for relationship with others. Reflect JOY in someone’s life this holiday season and it will strengthen you and affect them from the inside out.
