Hungry, In Need, No Place to Rest…

I can say with assurance and gratefulness that I have yet to find a time in my life when I was hungry and didn’t know when or how I would eat again, see a way that my needs would be met, or have any concerns about where I would sleep for the night.

Unfortunately, for all kinds of reasons, our church office encounters people from all walks of life coming to us at a time of crisis or need. If you never were aware before, we often are able to help meet those needs through our Special Account, which I am humbly honored to administer on behalf of our church. Sometimes Mitzi is able to help folks right away by providing gas money needed to attend out of town medical appointments. Other times, we work together, often with other agencies, to meet the needs. And yes, there are times when after our research and discernment folks are referred to other agencies or we can’t meet their need.

Your prayers over this ministry are asked for and appreciated. Deciding can be difficult. Broken people often don’t think or make decisions like we think they would (or should). But through it all, we must remain true to God’s call on us to seek justice, love mercy and walk humbly with and for Him. If you feel called to contribute to this ministry directly (a portion of our monthly offering helps support the Special Account), please contact Mitzi in the front office or myself. And, thank you, for allowing us to be and share the good news of Jesus on your behalf!

“Since there will never cease to be some in need on the earth, I therefore command you, “Open your hand to the poor and needy neighbor in your land.” Duet. 15:11
