I love Easter because it reminds me, every year, of why my faith is so important to me. One might think that re-reading and retelling the same story over and over again might get tiresome at some point, but it never does. The story of Jesus’ resurrection and his victory over death is Good News – and it never gets old!
Easter reminds us that the Risen Christ walks with us and calls us by name – even if we don’t always recognize him. Easter is an invitation to enter into life in a deeper and more joyful way. You might say that Easter isn’t the end of the story, but the beginning. Christ lives, and because he lives, we are made new.
So, what does it mean to walk in “newness of life?” What does it mean to live in this world of death and suffering as people who have died to self and sin? What does it mean to be a disciple of a risen savior? In the weeks and months ahead, we will be exploring those very questions. I pray you will join us as seek to be a community that embodies the Good News of Jesus Christ!
